Glass proof with translucent blue-green polychrome decoration with tartan design
marked Christian DIOR, at the point below the base.
In 1969, the year when everything seemed possible, Christian Dior commissioned Ercole Barovier to develop, design and produce a series of bottles with stoppers. Inspired by Scottish woven fabrics, Barovier created the bottle, which was distributed exclusively by Christian Dior in Paris and all its branches. The bottle was produced by fusing polychrome glass rods arranged in tartan patterns. There were several colour variations, generally in shades of blue, green and red in a mass of clear glass.
Each stopper was blown to fit the neck of the bottle perfectly. This example was probably produced between 1969 and 1975. The collaboration between the two companies dates back to 1969.
