MERLES ET RAISINS', A MOULDED GLASS PANEL WITH SILVER LEAF BY RENE LALIQUE, THE MODEL DESIGNED 22ND SEPTEMBER 1928 FOR THE 'COTE D'AZUR PULLMAN - EXPRESS
There are 5 large panels decorated with blackbirds and grapes made for the occasion.
The refinement of René and Suzanne Lalique's joint work is perfectly illustrated in the Merles et Raisins panel. Designed by Suzanne and René, this panel adorned the interior of the Côte d'Azur Pullman Express, a prestigious train, testifying to the timeless elegance of their creation.
Together, they also designed panels in plane wood for this train, which linked the Riviera and was very fashionable at the time, featuring bouquets of flowers designed by Suzanne and delicately inlaid with silver powder.”
